About Me
Small But Mighty
I am currently a Virtual Mentor Teacher for Clarkston Community Schools. I work with homeschool families that are connected in a virtual program with Clarkston Schools. Previously I was a Spanish and Leadership teacher at Clarkston Junior High School in Clarkston, Michigan. I am excited for this school year and can’t wait to see what amazing things the students of CCS can do!
The MAET program has pushed me to integrate technology into my Spanish and Leadership classes to help my students become global learners.
I graduated from Michigan State University with my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. I completed the secondary education teaching program through Michigan State and completed my student teaching at Eisenhower High School in Shelby, Michigan. I went back to Michigan State University and received my Master of Arts degree in Educational Technology in 2013.
I love spending time with my family, traveling, being a Spartan, reading, cooking, and trying new things! If there is an adventure, I want to be part of it!
Below are some of my favorite places that I have traveled to. I have been to Morocco to see the beauty of Africa. I studied abroad in the gorgeous city of Valencia, Spain. I participated in a mission trip to Veracruz, Mexico where I helped build a church and worked with indigenous families living in the mountains. I traveled to Riviera Maya, Mexico where we I swam with sharks, toothless ones of course! I visited Chile where I ate empanadas and viewed street art. I have helped chaperone several school trips to Washington D.C. and a trip to Germany and Switzerland.
